Ureteroscopic lithotripsy (URS) Treatment
A ureteroscopy is a medical procedure that uses a small camera to look inside the ureter, which is one of the narrow tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder.
By this method the stone in ureter can be visualized & broken using energy source slightly large fragments are removed by means of baskets. Very small fragments are allowed to pass spontaneously.
To prevent obstruction due to stone fragments, we sometimes introduce a small tube from kidney to bladder called DJ Stent. This stent is kept for some days depending on the condition & then removed by cystoscopy.
Patient stays in hospital for less than 24 hours.
